Wow! Croatia (I was in Brac Island) is a really good place to spend some relaxing day! Here you can see some shot taken during my vacation.
Yup.. I'm also working on aiu: at the moment I'm focused on check aircraft routine. It should be working for the next release.
Well, I was really busy during the last days so I couldn't work on aiu :(
Starting from this saturday I will spend some days in Croatia but I hope that I can upload the first public beta of Aiu this friday! :) I'm thinking about an announcement mailing list also: maybe I will use it in the future.
Two screenshots online. AIU can now install aircraft and exctract archives :)
Yeah! After 20 days I solved all the initial 620 compilation errors :D. After some initial check on code, now I'm trying to open the first zip with fs aircraft inside...
"... in a couple of days??" Argh! My visual c++ still shown about 400 bilions of errors and no screenshot available yet :( Well..let's start again: cut & paste, cut & paste, cut & paste....
Cut & Past, cut & paste and cut and paste.. Uargh!! That's crazy! I'm moving all classes to the new project tryng also to improve the programming style.. The main problem is my memory: I can't remember the meaning of many functions / variables.. (you know, comments: one of the best programmer's friend... Why I'm not using them???) Well.. hope I can compile something in the next couple of days ;)
Ok, updated old control's classes with new ones (when applicable of course!) I'm also updating variable and function's name in english. I don't know if I will nevere release AIU as open source but, just in case, I will be prepared! :)) I don't know exactly when and how but probably I will upload nightly build also.
After a couple of hours playing with "two years old" lines of code I took my decision: "File -> new project -> MFC project -> Aiu2005". I will spend less time pasting "old but good" functions in my new project that tring to understand my old code (well I'm also a better programmer now.. err :P). Now I'm looking for a new layout but I will mantain the structure of the last build.
Well, at last I got it :) What? My degree of course! ;) Now I have a lot of spare time so I can complete some old works that I left due lack of time. One of them is AIU (aircraft installation utility) a nice project that I started about five years ago. It was one of my first project using C++ but I stoped to update it when Flight Simulator 2002 was released.
